The beauty of e-portfolio

Thank You Vinod for the effort conducting this workshop. At least, all of us able to see varies platform been utilised by the students for this requirement and able to hear an insight part from the student's view. Actually, I am eager to explore 'e-portfolio' since joining education back in 2010 based from my experienced before as an ID student which involved a lot of studios project every semester. Due to the limited resources that we had experienced before when studying and shortage of storage, we have limitation to archive and keep our own artwork from the day we enrolled as an ID'an. At certain stage, I only able to keep important artwork for my own reference in a 'Binded A1 folder' which others end up thrown in a rubbish bin. As an Interior Design student, I have to produce series of models too besides the presentation board but end up it takes about maximum an hour been displayed and viewed within our compound only.

Based from my experienced, I'll take a step ahead to explore this method so students able to archive their progression as student. I do believed e-portfolio act as online diary where the students keep and archive their progression as a journey while they studying. The only thing to ensure the ownership and responsible are taken care off, I put certain requirement in the e-portfolio instead of them posting artworks and annotate a captions. For my own module, I will create a few questions for the module so that they will be able to reflect some written exercise along the journey doing the task/assignment given.

Honestly, some students will take the ownership and treat the blog as a personal diary where they proud to share their achievement that they had produced from the beginning of the semester, unfortunately some will only posting for the sake of getting the marks. That's the part that need to be highlighted and we as educator need to play the role in opening their eyes and create the awareness of the importance of the e-portfolio before they started their working journey. The millennial generation students should be grateful with varies platform offers nowadays that can be used for free via online in commercialising their journey as a student. I think in future, we just give the link of the online portfolio and will be sufficient enough for the hiring purposes.

Thanks for the task given Vinod and for the effort conducting an engaging workshop. Now I feel so busy till I have no times to touch back my blog since I left my previous uni.
